More Than Exercise. A Method That Has Helped Millions Move Better.

Pilates is one of the most respected and widely practised movement disciplines in the world — and its popularity continues to grow.

In an era where people are sitting more, moving less and experiencing greater levels of stress, Pilates is uniquely positioned to help. It improves posture, builds strength, develops body awareness and supports mental wellbeing — making it one of the most versatile and in-demand disciplines a fitness professional can teach.

For instructors, that means growing opportunity. Gyms, studios, leisure facilities and private clients are all actively seeking knowledgeable, confident and Studio Ready Pilates Instructors.

PILATES IS ...

For Every Body

Pilates can be adapted for complete beginners, older adults, athletes, people returning to exercise and those seeking improved movement confidence — giving you one of the widest potential client bases in fitness.

A Growing Market

Demand for Pilates instruction — particularly Reformer — continues to expand across the UK. Boutique studios, gyms and private practice settings are all investing in Pilates.

GOT QUESTIONS? WE'VE GOT ANSWERS

Here are the things people most commonly ask before starting the Sports Massage pathway.

Q: Do I need to be an experienced Pilates practitioner before I can teach it?

You don't need to be an advanced practitioner, but a familiarity with Pilates — whether through attending classes or personal practice — is helpful. What matters most is a genuine passion for movement and a desire to help others. Our tutors will develop your teaching knowledge and skills throughout the course.

Q: Do I need to complete Matwork before I can do Reformer?

Yes — and this is intentional. Matwork is the foundation of the Pilates method. The principles, body awareness and teaching skills you develop through Matwork directly underpin your Reformer practice. Most instructors find Matwork makes them a significantly better Reformer coach as a result.

Q: Are the Pilates qualifications regulated and industry recognised?

Yes. Both qualifications are regulated by OFQUAL and awarded by Focus Awards, ensuring they meet national standards for quality and professional credibility. As a CIMSPA Enhancing Status Training Provider, our Pilates qualifications are also delivered to the highest professional standards within the health and fitness industry.

Q: Where are the Pilates practical workshops held?

Our Level 3 Matwork Pilates courses are delivered across Glasgow, London, Newcastle, Manchester and the Midlands. Our Level 3 Reformer Pilates courses currently run in Glasgow and London, with additional Reformer Pilates training locations coming soon across the UK. If your nearest location isn't yet available, register your interest and we'll keep you updated as new dates are announced.

Q: Can I study around my current job or family commitments?

Yes — most of our Pilates learners study alongside full-time work, shift patterns or family life. The online theory elements are fully flexible and can be completed at any time. Practical workshop days are scheduled in advance so you can plan around your existing commitments.

Q: Is there an age limit for Pilates courses?

You must be 16 or over to enrol — but there is no upper age limit. Our learners come from all walks of life and all stages of life. If you have the passion and commitment, age is never a barrier here.

Q: Is funding available?

Flexible monthly payment plans are available across both qualifications. If you are a current or former member of the armed forces, selected courses may also be eligible for ELCAS funding. Speak to our team to find out more.

If you have any further questions please speak to our careers team who will be ableto answer and specific questions.
